yeah - i've always known prothane make bushes for the sx, but they were never easily accessible.

also, the nice thing is that they are sold in separate pieces, so guys like hancob that need only certain pieces can get them!

I went to Volkspares in Jet part to check out the stuff, they have the full prothane kit for the S13 for R1850 and NEX coilover that are spring, height and damper adjustible for R6500 and some change.

Saw the quality of both, looked very well built, the coilovers dont come with chamber plates though, they use the stock mounts.

rratadmin04 Jun 2008, 15:44

how do you know when to get new bushes?

SSlide 'em Wide04 Jun 2008, 15:47

when the ones you have turn brown and loose their leaves!

If you let it go for too long then they could start to smell

rratadmin04 Jun 2008, 15:49

i see

if your 17 year old sports car with 200000 kms plus on the clock feels like a wobbly fish mid corner or wonders like a hobo on the highway at 120km/h then its time for new bushes.

But the benefits of the poly bushes arent just in replacement, a stock car will feel much tighter even if the old bushes arent warn. Its a very good upgrade.

ok that hit the nail on the head! my car does exactly that!! shit! so thats R1900 for a whole kit?

mmario_200sx04 Jun 2008, 17:15

Thats a very good price, cheapest I could find in CPT was R2500-00.

vveecee04 Jun 2008, 17:54

bank on at least 2500-00 for fitment.

basically your cars entire suspension (front and back) has to be removed, fitted with the bushes, and then refitted.

you will also HAVE to go for alignment afterwards.
