I am looking at soundproofing my sx. Was looking at DynaMat but quite expensive. Found this SA stuff called RoadKill, not a bad price at all, just wonder if its going to work??

I baught 2 packs a while ago, havn't come round on using it, my sound and stuff has to wait, it should work, they use this stuff on factory cars.

GGary5730 Nov 2006, 15:38

Packs of what DynaMat or RoadKill?? I dont have any sound just want to make the car quieter and it will just gimmi something to fiddle with 😂 .

DDracomoderator30 Nov 2006, 15:44

Roadkill, remember these you put inside a car to keep sound in, if you wanna keep sound ou you gonna have to take the petrol tank out the soundproof the bottom of boot and so forth, I suppose it could help to keep noise out if you just lay it upside down under carpeting or maybe enven right side up, but don't know how effective it will be then.

I know this is an old topic, but Draco did you even get round to using that roadkill??

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 10:00

No Gary, it is still in it's packiging in my garage, i have decided not to install music so the sound detoning is useless exept if you want to block out road noise....that does not bother me at the moment...

How expensive is the roadkill and where do you buy it?

I've been wanting to put that stuff in the entire rear section of my car. Mainly to keep road/exhaust noise out of the cabin. An possibly make my deafening bass even louder.

GGary5713 Dec 2007, 10:05

Ja been looking and cant seem to find where I can buy it from.

I want to do the firewall and bonnet, want to try keep out the noise of the turbos ssssshhhhhhhhhhhh.

It will definately make a difference to the sound inside and out, that is what it is desighned to do.

I can not remember where I baught it, I ordered over the net and they delivered, I think I paid around a R1000 for 2 packs of 25 sheets, 1 sheet is about 50cm x 20cm.

GGary5713 Dec 2007, 10:59

Do you want to sell any of those sheets??

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 11:13

GGary5713 Dec 2007, 11:14

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 11:17

GGary5713 Dec 2007, 11:21

SOLD.

Each box has 25 sheets that are about 50cm x 20cm, right?? is that enough to do my bonnet and boot??

How heavy is quite heavy??

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 11:30

Well work it out, L X H = "oppervlakte"

take it like this, 2 pads will approximately cover 1 meter in length and 40 cm in width.

One pack is about 3-5 kg's if I am not mistaken....

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 11:34

No wait...I've got my dumb cap on....4 sheets would cover about 1m in length and 40cm in width....

GGary5713 Dec 2007, 11:39

Ok cool, when can you send it down to me?? Bigfoot express or Scorpio are the cheapest but you must drop it off at them.

PS: dont use the other box yet please, I might be needing it 😂 .

DDracomoderator13 Dec 2007, 11:44

Have you got numbers....

Why don't you buy both then you have when you need it, boot, fire wall, doors and back seat walls.....
