paint?

wwidowmaker03 Jun 2008, 01:49

does anybody have some tips on what paint (NOT OIL) is the better option?

not colour, we all know which colour is the best - i'm talking brands/types/methods maybe?

also, is the most expensive necessarily the best or are there "generic brands" like pick'npay paracetamol? doesn't have to stay pretty forever or be able to withstand launching into outer space - just be awesome enough for now.

maybe you know the price / coverage?

Go to a GOOD colour matching shop and they will give you all the info you need ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

normal kapci worked for my 94 honda's respray. see the car still driving and paint still looks hawt! 2 years later!

you can have crappy paint, but as long as the spraypainter is good!

NICE!

the dudes doing my car quoted me on an entire respray. thats interior and exterior.

between 30 and 35k.

very long warranty on the paint! something about a lifetime!

That is just to much ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

ggodzilla11 Jun 2008, 09:45

35K is way too much for thatr kind of money , i wuld expext a nice set of 20's and sr20 race rebuild and a life time surply of blow jobs from angelina jolie and get change........ ,my double cab rolled , i stripped it myself had it fixed and painted for under 10k, so shop around bra...and as for paint, buy a fairly reputable paint( doesent have to be an expensive brand) get a good spraypainterBUT the trick would be in the proper preparation,if its not prepared prperly,no matter if you have chip foose spraying, it will not be as good as it could have been if prepared properly.I still have to assemble the double cab, but ill try and post befor and afters just for sh1ts and gigles.

I agree a lifetime is way too much!! stressing about paint. oil, rebuilds, petrol price and thats the short list! ๐Ÿ™„

No way dude, that just seems WAY to expensive, lifetime warranty or not...

Does that price include a tub of vaseline? ๐Ÿ˜€

wwestmaister11 Jun 2008, 12:36

WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU PAINTING?

wwidowmaker11 Jun 2008, 15:02

a mousterbaaik - but i really want to at least try it twice myself before i send it out. havent got a lot of spraying experience, but it is one of those ME, IVE DONE IT, things

i'll probably need a plastic primer for the fairing? eh?

i have some evil plans with it, but it involves mostly black paint, but then i wanna put some of them flecks in the clear coat - what y'all reckon?
