nissan?

PPhinx15 Jan 2007, 10:13

Power brake.

They are cheaper then nissan on the disc's, Plus they are race units.
I have heard on earlier models you can use 200STI disks not sure about that.

From power-brake your looking at R 3000

Im running powerbrake Die Hard series, with kevlar ceramic pads also from powerbrake, they work work very well once they have heated up, so basically under heavy driving. under normal driving conditions they are very much the same as standard. with the brake combo im on there is very limited fade, but there is a lot of brake dust, i spent 2500 on disks and about 1000 on the front pads, rear end is std nissan parts.
hope it helps.

ebc???

www.quartermile.co.za

probably about the same price as powerbrake, i reckon. but thats just reckoning!!!

I can get Brembo cross drilled and slotted for around the same price, last S13 i got a full kit for (all 4 corners) in brembo slotted and drilled with pads all round and it was about R5000 if i remember right.

Rezlo I'll have to contact you sometime after my clutch is sorted....this Brembo stuff....must I then everytime order pads from you when mine is shot or is it availible locally?

RRezlo17 Jan 2007, 21:25

U can use any pads, they are the same physicaly as the factory units in size 😉

BTW i got alot of SR20DET RWD clutch kits in stock to, can get them for the CA18 though.

DDracomoderator18 Jan 2007, 11:18

Button or normal kits and price for Ca18?

I also remeber enquiring to you on the clutches for s13, but at that stage you were not able to help. Sort of twee weeks ago.

if u still looking 4 front disks then do what i did. go to nissan and find out the specs on the sx disks.think it was the almeira or primeira thats the same.only diff is sx is smaller believe it or not.took mine to an engineering shop and had it skimmed to size.

Thanks boet ,that is already being done...Almera discs with 3mm skimmed off by the engineers, fit SX 100% and did not end up paying a fortune R700 altogether

wwidowmaker24 Jan 2007, 11:37

very interesting indeed! now, can you get almera's with cross drilled or slotted? or can the "engineers" do that themselves?

DDunn24 Jan 2007, 11:53

hey widowmaker peace out, actually i think they can ,i am actually busy building up a project car and don't want to spend a fortune on the SX as it's my daily driver so it does'nt actually need a hardcore brake setup

SSokar24 Jan 2007, 11:56

ooh, ooh, question, I'm looking for disks for my S14, are there any compatibles? I've called Magnis, they want R1390 each and I just cant afford it at the moment, I'd love yo go for Brembo's 🙁

So, any Idea's? Z32 disks would probably even cost more at nissan.

DDislex66624 Jan 2007, 11:58

welcome to owning an S14 bru...

or rather welcome the S14 to owning you 😛

Now T-cam, once the Almera's is skimmed down 3mm, is the specs then still better of than s13. What I am thinking off is less material more heat any way.Is it still ticker, wider etc? If so then this is very interesting.

wwidowmaker24 Jan 2007, 12:15

3mm is not much anyway - just dont put pads in

DDislex66624 Jan 2007, 12:36

also - i got told, very sternly i might add, by the oke at speedy that you should NEVER skim vented discs....

comments?

DDunn24 Jan 2007, 12:38

The disc was too thick, the calipers would not fit back on with the pads so the 3mm was taken off so everything could fit back
