CA18det pressure plates?

SSpeed breeder24 Feb 2009, 12:35

hi, tried both kits suggested on the site for the pressure plates. The clutches are the same, but not the pressure plates.

Site says R30MK or R90MK... some of the pins and screw holes don't allign.

Has anyone succeeded in using a different pressure plate or have their pressure plates modified or "rebuilt"

I think Draco comes to mind, and Chemcool

I have used a previous 4 puk button with the standard pressure plate previously and worked perfectly.

I am using the same pressure plate, but a new 6 puk button and its not doing the same job...

Want to either build a huge left leg or get a new pressure plate (not from agents - they are available at R1500/pop)

thanks

Mines made up of a few clutches. Sachs cluth plate, Valeo Pressure plate, Exedy thrust bearing, but I think it comes std with Sachs.

Theres a place in Krugersdorp that helped me called CBS. They work with Valeo and I think they will help.

I had some major issues with clutches, for a month I had to drive around lugging a 12kg flywheel looking for a pressure plate to fit. 2 places charged me R1500 for dropping my Gbox and just looking. R 1000 for towing.

So after some serious missioning and 2months CBS offered me the best 1day service and I havent had a problem as yet. They also well priced and offer copper clutches for Hi performance cars.

Thanks Darryl, so was it a 200sx ca18det pressure plate? and do you perhaps have the serial number or product code for it?

DDrillergy24 Feb 2009, 14:15

It was for the CA18DET motor. If you want I can sort you out with a number tomorrow. No serial numbers though

CBS is clutch and brake systems.

SSpeed breeder24 Feb 2009, 14:17

PM email or even SMS me the number thanks...

I am fitting the pressure plate myself again, so I don't know if they will just supply me with the serial number or product number.

Gave them a call - seeing them on Saturday to see if they have something that matches.

Thanks D

I TOOK MY CLUCH PLATE FLYWHEEL AND PRESURE PLATE THERE AND THEY MATCHED AND MADE UP EVERYTHING, IT COST ME R1300

SSpeed breeder25 Feb 2009, 11:21

This was for the clutch, pressure plate and the thrust bearing right?

How much was the pressure plate only?

They are at 5 Top Road Boksburg... seems there are a lot of good places in the east. Us Westranders are losing out.

hhentiebez25 Feb 2009, 13:21

For sure we loosing out, they made a brand new cluch plate, new face and fingers for presure plate, skim flywheel and matched the whole lot up. I am sure they can supply you with a thrust bearing, mine was still ok. dont know what the cost was for each one. Yes thata there address

Well preveously it worked fine, the dells mached, the last time I did the flywheel(lightened) suddenly the holes did not mach perfecly 😕

So I saw another clutch guy I knew and got some advice, easiest was to drill the holes to a M10, tap and so forth fot the m10....and walla....there where dells were needed, holes were made and so foth for the dells, then the clutch and pressure plate and flywheel was balanced....wallaaaaaaa

I am not as fast as you think - just want to understand...

This is also the issue I have - the delpins don't match, but I am also not sure that if I remove the delpins if the holes for the screws will match.

I have a new R30MK pressure plates at home, the R30MK being the closest match I have found - rest of dimensions.

I will take the extra flywheel I have, remove the pins, see if the torque holes on the flywheel match those of the R30mk pressure plate.

If this works brilliant... but then I do need the delpins in the flywheel

Did you increase the size of the delpin and holes on the flywheel as well?

hhentiebez25 Feb 2009, 17:19

That was what was so leka about norbrake i took everything there and they fixed it up to fit on each other

NNIZAN-R25 Feb 2009, 21:24

Skyline gt-x works for me only removed one dell pin and it all fits perfectly

No, just the bolt holes, the dell pins was made the same size.

My advice is drill the holes and stuff yourself, it is not rocket science....then take it for balancing.

I am pretty sure you will end up paying less.

Its called a dowel pin. a Dell is a computer.

Hi Guys

Just fitted a R30MK clutch & pressure plate to my son's SX on Tuesday Night. Car originally belonged to Doctor G.

Just the 1 dowel pin did not align. Since the other 2 dowel pins align properly to centre the plate all it took was to drill an M10 hole for the 3rd pin. No balancing required. However the bolt holes had to be resized as well

Clutch seems to be 100% now.

I am sure my son will register soon and post updates on the car.

Awesome site guys.
