Bringing in a body kit?

DDanielmoderator24 Jan 2007, 09:32

Would it be worthwhile for a lot of us to club together and bring 1 kit into the country then have that kit copied locally for us. Would that work out cheaper?? 😕

Only problem is that we all will have the same kit, but i for one would rather look like everyone who has a kit than everyone who doesnt. catch my drift.

perhaps someone with a better idea on the costs of both could help out

get bruno's body kit mould, dust it, then rape it. that way we can all make our own different renditions of beauty

will work out a lot cheaper (and would you really want to chopnchange a kit that you imported with lots of money?)

CChemCooladmin24 Jan 2007, 10:18

Walter, you just more than funny man. Nice 😂 😂 😂

DDanielmoderator24 Jan 2007, 10:30

Ja ok, how do you get bruno to let us copy his kit tho.
and would a company be able to modify it, although i do like Bruno's kit i want something with alot smoother lines

more like

COMPANY? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING COMPANY!!!
bruno has the moulds still somewhere in an attic between two rusting S14's - we take the moulds, fill them with fibreglass or lead, then sandpaper everything pretty. You can have lines or induction ports wherethehellever ya wanna. You can make scooby-scoops, flappy things or little propellers on the bonnet if you wanna - then you just spray it red and it will go faster

we call it a "braai n naai" as opposed to "braai n fix"

DDanielmoderator24 Jan 2007, 10:50

OOOH 😀 i see said the blind man to the deaf dog that wasnt there.

so whats the problem? when we starting 😀

DDislex66624 Jan 2007, 10:53

the point of a body kit is to make the car unique 😕 so why would you all want the same thing??

The veilside kit is the best.

veilside kit is horrid!

I get what you saying i do. But if i have the same kit as 20 or even 50 other SX's fine. Its still less then everybody with the standard kit. and it will sure as hell look better than standard, even if everybody else has it.

wwidowmaker24 Jan 2007, 12:08

but they wont be the same, thats why we rape it! we make one for you, then rape it again, then one for me, rape, that other guy, rape, that funny looking car, rape, etc, etc, rape, rape, etc
i can get loads of carton, we need fibreglass, rum&resin, rum, hardener (no, not that kind), loads of duct tape, rum, then we braai n naai!

only then, next day, then we spray them all red and hand paint flowers on

E-Z!

This is beautiful!!!

VVladeadmin24 Jan 2007, 12:50

Window I want to same stuff you smoke... 😮

I'm sorta have this idea on my ski-trip next year to Japan to pickup a kit for my self, I have the address of the place and sorta got an idea how to get there using there public transport... Communicating will be a bitch so I'll just show him pictures of what I want and hope they grasp it.

While I'm at it I can pickup a few other, then duplicate them here at home.

But this is gonna be next year Jan-Feb...

this is the kit i want

DDislex66624 Jan 2007, 12:59

that kit is teh hawtness!!!

I think you gonna have to get a trailer to take it to events tho.. Cuz the first bump in the road and cheers sideskirt... next bump, cheers bumpers.

And you better start sharpening up on your engrish so long 😛

DDanielmoderator25 Jan 2007, 08:33

Well Bruno doesnt have the moulds...back to plan A?

GGary5725 Jan 2007, 10:55

Why dont we start with subtle changes like clear side indicators and Low profile headlights 😛 .

wwidowmaker25 Jan 2007, 15:26

not bad kit, but why oh why would you put stickers on a white s13?

muhuhuhahahaha here we go again 😈

BBryce25 Jan 2007, 21:59

Hey Guys!

I built the purple 200sx s14.5(purple haze) and one thing ive wanted to do since and have learnt is the more of one kit you order from a company, the cheaper the kit and the shipping as you all know!

We import Kits all the time as Creative Rides and the pic of the Origin Kit(Red one that daniel Posted) is very well priced and comes in three different styles.

If we get enough orders then we could come out with original pics at a very good price.

or

I also have a mate that im selling his kits for R10 000 and is a replica of a smooth JP Sports body kit! 😀

CCharl25 Jan 2007, 22:38

I was getting all excited reading about the kits and then I read "R10 000"

Whats a rough estimate that a kit costs? Shurely R10 000 is for a very elaborate kit 🙄

PPuls0nic25 Jan 2007, 22:49

Nope, R10 000 is for a decent set. Ur looking at about R2500 a piece for a 4 piece kit. Maybe u can get cheaper kits, but then its cheaper materials, like plastic or fibreglass.

i've seen the most horrible and flimsy kit on a yellow "car" (cant remember what it was for the life of me! 😮 ), but that thing was blowing in the wind and looked REALLY unstable as he was driving past. I betcha that is a road hazard. Altho overall the car looked very nice.

VVladeadmin26 Jan 2007, 06:55

The kit I posted is 108,000 Yen thats R6750 ex postage + packing, but then its a decent FRP kit (Fiberglass reinforced plastic) not just fiberglass like some of the cheap kits that one get.

Remember our bumpers are made of polyurethane believe me I needed to cut mine to make the inter cooler fit. Just slapping on a plain fiberglass kit is not my first choice, first slight bump and it cracks. Where if you go FRP its strong yet flexible.

And you'll notice most of the top kit's out there are FRP go check GP-Sports, Veilside, ect.
