GTi-R Turbo on a RB25

rratadmin20 May 2009, 16:38

What you guys think?

I know that the RB25 t28 has the ceramic wheels that don't like boost

Rather buy a Garret GT 30/35 bb turbo if the money allows it,You will want more power sooner then later 😈
Ask RB25SX if it will work out,Im not sure what benifits there are.

rratadmin20 May 2009, 16:47

money not going to be there for a turbo soon.

the gti-r t28 has a 0.86 exhaust side and flows close to a gt28r

It should be ok. nice and fast on spool too.

Try it out... what do you have to loose? 😉

Its not a good Idea..

But I will take that Gti-r off you hands

I think by the time you've realised how much time and money you've spent on the conversion, a GT30 turbo will just be something you need rather than want 😉 btw, I asked for the turbo first, so i voted NO 😂

PFB do you have the flow map for the GTi-R turbo?

cant find it :/

PPinkfluffybunnys21 May 2009, 12:23

Howdy...

can you explain why please?

The turbo is too small for the application the RB25 comes with a T3 turbo stock

PFB do you have the flow map for the GTi-R turbo?

I had it some where I will look for it

Thanks

If you're looking for a cheap turbo rather look into a correctly sized t3/t4 combo job. Should be a hoot on an rb25. Phone up a couple of turbo shops and ask questions. Ask if they can email you flow charts for their recommendations.

Should be a fun albeit expensive project.

I think the question should of been, "Is GTi-R turbo and upgrade over the stock RB25 turbo".

Its a T3/T28 hybrid

But overall info from my research is sketchy

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...Photo-0048.jpg
Small diameter compressor wheel 46.5mm
Large diameter 66.5mm
Trim is 70
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...Photo-0046.jpg
Exhaust wheel outlet is 44mm.
T3 flange in.
Would guess it could do 330-350hp.
These are not very happy with high boost or high temerature.

Hmmm

I see your point but Info is sketchy at best, The Person to ask would be Ian (Rezlo) or RBSX and I think they will say the same thing its too small.

I mean you don't see people upgrading to GT28R\GT28RS or GT2871's on RB25's
