How easy is it to change the clutch cable on a S13 mine seems to have ended its life. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

ppoizenmoderator03 Jun 2009, 08:29

well there is no clutch cable its hydrolic clutch unless you mean the hydrolic pipe

whats wrong with your clutch

EEro_sennin03 Jun 2009, 08:33

I was afraid of that ๐Ÿ˜ฎ when I press the clutch pedal it is very easy to press, and the clutch does not disengage.

Check for leaks.

I think your piston is messed up.
It doesnt cost alot to fix if that s the problem. Like R50

I didn't see any leaks, there is fluid in the reservoir... guess its off to the mech again

dont be lazy - do it yourself!

get the ou vrou to "pump", and get under the car to see that the slave piston is moving and that the clutch fork is moving with it!

Open up the lid for the resevoir and check what color is the the brake fluid.

About 3 weeks ago I cooked the fluid so if the fluid is black its cooked and you need to do a flush. ๐Ÿ˜‰

any contaminated fluid will look black, not just cooking it, but even if water got into the stuff.

You probably right but If you remember when we had poker night, my car over heated. I think it got cooked at that time.

:200sx_offtopic:

I thought I blew my H/Gasket but when I took it out it was still fine. I replaced it anyways.

I dunno what could of caused it to overheat cos it never happened before or maybe it was scared of the other cars there.

Personally I think the heater radiator had something to do with it

it was sort of brown I think, but even so how does it work one moment then all of a sudden just stop

ppoizenmoderator03 Jun 2009, 15:27

a piston is bypasing fluid so mayb a o ring has broken off

EEro_sennin03 Jun 2009, 15:31

it could be something like that, makes sense..

Mine did ecxactly that , i drove to work no problem and when i wanted to go home there was no clutch.

vveecee03 Jun 2009, 15:36

maybe your clutch fork broke?

or the clutch fork pivot?

or you ruptured a line?

or the piston o-ring has given up the ghost! (most likely)? but who knows when and where murphy the doos is gonna strike!

EEro_sennin03 Jun 2009, 15:37

what turned out to be wrong with yours?

EEro_sennin03 Jun 2009, 21:13

ok when stepping on the pedal the push rod on the operating cylinder moves the lever, when i touched the rubber on the cylinder a bit of fluid leaked out, but nothing dripped before that, is it possible that the piston is not moving the lever enough or could something inside the gearbox be buggered?
