DDriftmeister14 Dec 2009, 08:52

if one should be taking a stock s13
what else is needed to get your car running reliably

rratadmin14 Dec 2009, 11:29

hard springs or coilovers for that extra weight and FMIC

brakes? ๐Ÿ˜›

DDriftmeister14 Dec 2009, 11:36

oh

is that all ?
will it Kill a stock RB25 setup ?

SSpeed breeder14 Dec 2009, 11:39

sounds like a very good deal...
still needed
boost pipes, FMIC, bigger radiator+electric fans, reallocation of battery to boot, fuel pump, suspension, new filters, boost controller, modified accelerator cable

modified cluster/speed sensor

extra gauges for temp, oil pressure etc. or recalibration of existing cluster inputs

DDriftmeister14 Dec 2009, 11:41

so how much more would one have to spend ?
would you say 10K?

SSpeed breeder14 Dec 2009, 11:46

prices may bary
radiator R2 500-R3 000
FMIC R??
Boost pipes custom R2 000-R3 000
Cheap boost controller R350
Fuel pump R1 250 - R1 400
Electric fans R500 - R1 000 (2x fans)
Cable R??

easy extra R15k (small items will add up) unless you can get good second hand stuff.

rratadmin14 Dec 2009, 11:54

yes will kill a std RB25

RRBSX14 Dec 2009, 12:53

this setup is ideal for someone who as done all the basics on a s13
buy now you should have done
walbro
fmic
boost pipes

just join up and go

bigger brakes and suspension, is dependant on what you plan on doing with the car

as far as im concerned, if you driving it everyday and occasional busrts
its fine

My car doensnt have any suspension or brake mods, but im fine

the point is that you get get up and running and still drive it and enjoy it safely, and do the brakes and suspension as you need

it doenst mean just beacuse you put in a bigger engine, you must upgrade
brakes,,,, the car stops, even from 240kph, on stadard brake fluid and cheap dics and pads

other that , if you wanna go stupid on the corners, remember, you are gonna go alot faster round them...so dont be stupid

i havent crashed yet, or been unable to stop andtrust me sometimes
im really pushed it, am im half has good driver as DriftZ

SSilviaS1314 Dec 2009, 16:06

hmmm...
I just bought my 2JZ last week....

DDriftmeister14 Dec 2009, 16:16

i am so so tempted to druk my arse into Debt for this

DDriftmeister14 Dec 2009, 16:18

and diff
oh by the way why root u going next ?

RRBSX14 Dec 2009, 17:33 ยท edited

im sorry to say that i will only ever use the 2jz for as long as it is available
as far as im concern, it is the best engine to make big power on reliably
as well as the cheapest and easiest to get parts for,

you can order any part through toyota dealership locally
i paid R1650 for a brand new oil pump

the RB guys fork out over R3500 if they can even find one

Water pump is R700

as much as i love the Rb26.. if i had to choose again it would be the 2jz..always

Ive actually got 2 s13s exactly the same, but the one that im finishing will make 500hp , only diff is the injectors

The s13 diff and shafts are very strong,

the money from this sale is to pay the bill for the other

if the parts get sold , i will keep the body in storage for the next year and when finance permits and if i can find a chev ls2 really cheap,,, i miss my 540... love to own a v8sx

DDriftZ14 Dec 2009, 17:51

this is avery strong reliable setup.. even in its marginally stock form it walked away from my current SR/lightened setup...
,,,although after my rebuild i think we'll need to do a re-check ๐Ÿ™‚

RRBSX14 Dec 2009, 17:55

when is it going to be ready,, i really enjoyed those runs we had

time for a rerun ๐Ÿ˜ˆ ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

DDriftZ15 Dec 2009, 07:33

im hoping ..early next year.
