Hey guys. I am in urgent need of a s13 bonnet and front indicator\park lights. Gettting from nissan takes 2 months and costs a packet. Does anyone know where i can get a standard. carbon or fibreglass bonnet. Or maybe get one made. And where I can get front indicator\park lights. I remember Toby posted a thing for clear ones for R500 quite a while ago. Do you still have that contact Toby? Anyone else know where i can get? Preferably with 48 hour delivery.
Bonnet
If I remember correctly the indicators was on ebay, and unfortunatly not a contact.
I also had a bit of a hairy moment on the ruimte-old joeys corner dude. Hope you get sorted and il keep a eye out.
I love that corner, my passengers don't
Ummm I'm thinking of making a mold from my bonnet... which currently just sitting there... I'll do a bit of research to see what is needed.
Maybe carbon fibre bonnets?? If we order in bulk maybe it wil cheaper??

nou boet, sê vir die oom nou mooi WAT DE DONNER HET JY NOU AANGEVANG!?
do you have the backings of your indicators intact? I have a plan!
but not for the bonnet though - not yet!
your bumper still intact?
watch space
how do you work with carbon fibre - just like fibreglass?
I found a few places that can make carbon bonnets. But they need a bonnet to make moulds from. Mine is a bit waisted. Anyone willing to lend me one?
How much they want for the carbon one??
mine is available... 😀
Find out costs and so forth... then we talk
You get two types of carbon
Dry - Very light - very strong - you stick the mat together over a mold and you bake it in a vacuumed oven - very very expensive - the stuff F1 cars use
Wet - Not much different that your normal fiberglass although it is much stronger since the mat is weaved but its not much lighter than fiberglass believe it or not... the mat is still bonded with resin and that is heavy.
My buddies helped a guy fit a Carbon Creations kit to a RX7 the stuff wasn't that light, I have felt Golf bumbers from Autostyle that is lighter.
Carbon is quite expensive the best i could find is R250 sq M so for a bonnet you need at least 3 / 5 layers and its probally 3 sq at a time... $$$
and then you need a guy like me - i have discovered that here at work i'm sitting with a half-a-million-just-sitting-here-one-of-only-three-is-SA-vacuum-oven
:!: :!: :!:
see where i'm going with this?
im gonna make lights and bumpers and wings and whores and crack and uhhm, did i say that out loud?
talka dirty to me people, where do we go from here?
You gotta take me to your work dude......Like "bring a school boy to work" kinda thing.
This oven of yours sounds lekker.......& if you bring me along, I'll bring some doh & special special stuff & we can make space cookies!!!!
cool! if you have a mould we can make little bunny wabbit space cookies, or little faeries, or dragons, or puppies, or little pamelas, or for you little hasselhoffs
who has the altezza lights on the back - hennie, was it you?
are your standard ones for sale?
i will also take front indicators and side markers if someone has them.
come on people - the possiblilities are endless (wel, wanna start with small things first - so no big pamelas)
i found a place close to me that can make anything out of carbon fibre. to make a mould for a bonnet and to make the bonnet, they charge 10k. but if i can get moulds they charge between 3 and 4k. so anyone have a mould for me. bruno, old buddy! hint hint.
Gremlin dude....did you read Vlades post.....he can help...give him a call

Yeah did some reading on this yesterday... its a crap load of work... I'll need to source a lot of parts in order to do it... like spray equipment and so forth not to mention polishers and sanders... 😕
