The 200SX Club List

PPhinx10 May 2007, 14:01

The list as it stands :

1. Draco (S-13)
2. Chemcool (S-13)
3. Phinx (S-13)

Challenges Are welcome, We have to get the ball rolling on this list
So comments are welcome...

I think the rule is you can only get on the list if you race šŸ˜‰ and post a result...

I know ChemCool said he needs to back out since he has a bearing knock, racing now will just cause an engine to break 😢

I think another rule is if you can't race the guy above you, because of, unforeseen circumstances you race the guy above him simple as that.

OK then in that case Draco...

I'm calling you out,

Hey Phinx, you will have to take the top spot for now, I blew a head gasget and due to some misunderstanding I now broke some valves and hurt a piston, but be sure when she is running again youl have to defend your spot, be ready 😈

jurru meneer.

en nou?

do tell please!

DDracomoderator21 May 2007, 10:09

Don't want to go into detail it's a bit sensitive, well sent my head in with Freddy...thanks for the help Fredman and to Vlade and everybody that helped over the phone.

I am now trying to find out if I can re-use the piston or get another old one from someone to replace it with...anyone....just one.

The piston got hurt by the broken valves, it has some nasty dents but not to bad I think and a pease is standing out, the piston is not cracked just abused a bit the small hump i'll grind flush if I can re-use it, I don't want to take out the engine and pistons and stuff, had replaced rings and bearings about a year ago so that should be ok.

EEro_sennin21 May 2007, 16:50

usually the say that the "holes/dents" can cause hot spots or something but I'm no expert

DDracomoderator22 May 2007, 08:27

Hopefully the water/meth will sort that out....hopefully!

Sorry to say but I doubt it.

DDracomoderator22 May 2007, 09:16

So I have to replace the piston...great!

GGary5722 May 2007, 09:24

Thats what I would do. And while the motor is open I would fit head studs and a steal head gasket.

DDracomoderator22 May 2007, 09:44

The question is where do I get this here without paying R2000

PPhinx22 May 2007, 10:09

Why wound you change the head-Gasket to a metal unit?
You are removing a failing point should something go wrong.

For example with a metal gasket you next failing point, should you run into detonation is you piston rings to me a head gasket is cheaper then a piston.

Also most JDM tuners run "stock" nissan gaskets, because if the vehicle is tunned correct it will not blow the gasket.

We are not pushing numbers anywhere closed to what is required for ARP head-bolt and a Metal-head gasket.

Draco why did you drop a vale? Cam belt jump a couple of teeth? Over rev? Bad tension?

DDracomoderator22 May 2007, 11:20

No just the gasket went between piston 3 and 4, gasget was replaced, everything was fine till the pullies had to be lighned up for timing, there was a misunderstanding and obviosly the timing was all buggered whitch broke the valves and dented piston number 1.

DDracomoderator22 May 2007, 11:31

You can say that again, expensive misunderstanding šŸ™„

vveecee22 May 2007, 11:35

you should avoid misunderstandings. they lead to mistakes. which leads to mishaps. which ultimately leads to misplacement of funds. which can lead to misinterpretations of mis-allocation of funds by your missus.

or maybe is just misread this topic.

i dunno!!!!

PPhinx22 May 2007, 11:52

Dude it happen to me.

The first i removed my head because of the HG then me and Sokar installed it correctly but we forgot you have to re-tention the pulley after hand cranking,we hand cranked the motor all was fine then we started it and i bent 3 valves.

Took the head off again sent it in had all valve's reseated and valve guides installed and the bent ones replaced cost me R 800.

Damn I should have had the head ported as well, Ow and I'm using one of those Midas Engine Gasket sets , There is a cheap make thats basically the same as Payne.
