I use BP or Sasol 95...
I like BP more
Personally I think petrol is petrol and I dont care which it is. I just dont like BP, they are the slowest and have the worst service ever, but my petrol account is there so I have to use them.
Engen is tops for service along with Exel and Sasol.
i didnt know there were any exels left!!! thought sasol bought them all out!
anyway, i prefer to use shell or BP. used to use sasol, because they had the nicest facilities and advertised their fuel with the number 100 next to it. but that was probably optimistic at best!
BP has a poor grasp over management of their service delivery. some BP's are great with service, and others are really bad. a good example is in edenvale. that exact service delivery phenomenon occurs in two BP stations within a kilometer of each other!!!
shell has a horse running on water, keeping up with a formula one car, in their adverts!!!!
BP stands for Best Petrol. I did a test once with my 1600 Honda. I'd fill up the tank, reset the odo, then drive till empty light came on. I'd then fill up with another petrol and repeat. Not sceintific, I know, 'cos you don't drive exactly the same route each time, but basically the driving conditions were very similar. The results were as follows (all leaded 95 petrol at the time):
BP - most mileage out of one tank. Got about 15km per litre!
Shell - second best
Engen - same as Shell, tied for second place
Caltex - worst of all brands. Got 80km less out of a tank than BP!
Didn't try any other brands. Sasol seems to be up there with BP and Engen.
For some reason I get the best millage out of Caltex? HTF does that work?
i really like shell, the guys from the station close to home know me, every now and then they give out free stuff with a fill up (small things like the daily paper) ...
and one guy in particular (a petrol attending) really thinks that the 200sx i drive is the shizzzzzz.
so i tend to go there. or the BP just before i jump on the crappy freeway at beyers!!!

It must be your driving style change. Petrol is petrol, I dont care where it comes from.
No but serious... Me an Toby's results is are the exact opposite but I have really heard this from a couple of people... even my old lady, her driving style never changes, some people get better millage from certain fuels... SeRiAs

ass??????????????
I used to like BP, but then a far-sighted petrol attendant walked into my open fuel flap and now its bent 😈 . But I like their petrol, supoosedly cleans your engine en stuff...........
i used to prefer the fruity aftertaste of caltex - a flamboyant bouquet of nutty and sweet, balanced by a hint of habanero.
i dont trust the green colour in BP (oh and the P in the name)
but ive heard that tecron can cause warts and piles - and if you smoke then you may grow a new arsehole or two
For some reasom I get better milage out of sasol 95, I normally use shell or sasol but I notest that when I fill up with shell I use more 4 some reason...can't explain it...
theres no gas like AVGAS - all the other ones come from the same pipeline when the ship gets here - the pipe splits - one to the BP tanker, one to the Caltex tanker...
just like beer and toothpaste and soft porn background music

a friend of mine sometimes talks of the days when they used to line up with the smaller planes at lanseria to fill their cars with AVGAS!!!
extra octane dudes!
My buddy is a pilot and preflight test requires him to test the fuel for any contamination (water...etc) so has this probe that fills about 100ml of fuel at a time then has to throw it out... he got the bright of rather throwing it on the ground to save it up and use it in his car... lets just say... his lil 1300 Corsa didn't last long...
Does anyone know if there is any real difference in the petrol?? I know sasol is different from the others as it is made from coal not oil but what about the others?? Your guys petrol comes from DBN, thats why you pay more, and we only have one petrol refinery down here; SAPREF. Now even if the pertol went to each garages repective depo's all they could do to it is put an additive in it, they could not refine it and change the moleculer constrution of it.
So my question is: is there any real difference in the petrol we use??
as i have learnt from the many pollers choices (and please note that it is one that i didnt add), do we really care???
I drove around a few Caltex stations in the area a while back to get samples, the same grade pertrol, all the samples differed in colour... :?:
Yip, there where quite a few stories about filling stations diluting petrol with cheaper grades etc....
Then there are the solvents they used to clean the pipeline after they they changed from petrol to diesel and vise versa.... bad stuff :!:

Tell us more about your samples. What else can you tell us?
