Adjust boost on GT25?

TTwakkie11 Oct 2012, 11:34

Can you set/adjust boost on a standard GT25 in standard form? i know its not advised coz you'll blow up in two days but can it be done? because ive heard that the GT25 can boost up to a bar. were do you set it?

EEnzio11 Oct 2012, 11:56

Boost controller or adjustable actuator. You cannot adjust it as standard.

BTW It is a T25, not a GT25 on a stock CA18.

+1 boost controller but i wouldnt go higher than 0.8bar if i were you not on stnd motor

TTwakkie11 Oct 2012, 12:57

O!! i thought it was a GT!? what is the boost in standard form? 0.5 bar or less?

rratadmin11 Oct 2012, 13:12

stock is 0.6 - 0.7

so you can turn the boost up to .8 with a boost controller with out dyno or touching ecu???

NNIZAN-R14 Dec 2012, 17:12

fit inter cooler it goes up to about .8

ssmash!!16 Dec 2012, 22:19

ok thanks and recomended size of cooler? in the future i will be running garret t3/t4 hybrid 550cc injectors new maf walbro fuel pmp 76mm zorst and a managment. any idea what power figure i would get out of that setup? on stock internals and also what boost would i be able to run? this car is a weekend car for the roads and odd tarlton street to strip day

hey man, I can get you a full intercooler kit.

Tube and fin designed. which allows for better air flow to your radiator.

checkout www.actperformance.co.za under S13 section.

ok ive managed to get the same size cooler of a friend of mine for very cheap .... so ill just get the boost pipes made up for it.

thanks for the reply though. 😉

I'm boosting 1bar, everything stock now, and did not have to use any boost controllers or such....so please explain why HE has to go out and buy all these?

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin21 Jun 2013, 16:33

ur actuator has been adjusted or not working if its a t25 thats past its limit or capability of boost pressure. you should never boost high without supporting mods IE intercooler ect. what turbo u running?

wwizard_60022 Jun 2013, 08:51

I am running a t25 garret turbo, gotech, 550cc injectors, bigger radiator and i am making 182.kw on the wheels.
wich is not bad on std internals

AAdrian22 Jun 2013, 17:45

wizard what boost u running?? still a bar?

obsession i did the same with my ca ran it at a bar witch no mods besides internals and a t28t3 had efff all power compared to tuned with all the goodies at .8 bar
your ecu is adjusting for it not that you can make huge gains with it
i bent the actuator bar to fit the turbo witch upped the boost. don't recommend it though

OObsession23 Jun 2013, 10:50

I disconnected the actuator......Been running at a bar for bout 3 months now....I must say. the gains does not feel significantly higher....

Since my 3rd motor rebuild( drifting and JMS killed them all), i took everything back to stock....except boost...

AAdrian23 Jun 2013, 11:55

Your motor must be loving you right now

OObsession23 Jun 2013, 13:21

This one seems to.......like they say, fourth time lucky.....

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin24 Jun 2013, 07:54

by by motor! the reason u not feeling gains is cuz standar ecu can only suport 0.8 bar then you run lean give it another month or two your valves are gonna burn or you gonna get a knock

1bar is very very close to the maximum rotational speed of the compressor on the t25..

you right if he has disconnected the waste gate then the turbo is going to spool to its max the turbo isnt gonna last long and the motor isnt either without a fuel management system
