TTobyadmin23 Oct 2006, 13:56

I'm changing my vote to 4th November - effectively breaking the tie 🙂 Shall we settle on 4th?

CChemCooladmin23 Oct 2006, 14:26

wwidowmaker27 Oct 2006, 13:52

Toby - your car going again? I might have the same problem with the water now...

more fun!

TTobyadmin27 Oct 2006, 15:20

Naah still waiting for the right hose from Nissan. They probably have it and forgot to phone me - will go through tomorrow and hopefully pick it up from them. In the mean while I did install a boost guage in my car - very temporarily. Still haven't taken it for a drive to see if it works (I was off sick last week and still recovering). I must warn you guys though - the boost guage from Autostyle that's black and smoked and comes with a warning beep - it is MIGHTY irritating on startup - everytime the guage switches on, the needle goes all the way to max and then back to 0, and in the process makes an irritating warning sound!! So now I have to break apart the guage to get rid of the sound 😈

TTobyadmin31 Oct 2006, 10:44

I won't make this event 🙁 Going down to Durban. You guys have fun and someone please take photos and send them to me.

DDracomoderator31 Oct 2006, 15:11

Ya you guys srewed me aswell with the date change, I won't be there, hope you guys enjoy it.

wwidowmaker31 Oct 2006, 16:08

NOOOO!!!!!!

anyway, fixed my water trouble - turned out to be just the clamp on that little hidden pipe, so Toby if you haven't got it yet, have a look first!

TTobyadmin01 Nov 2006, 06:43

Thanks for the tip widowmaker, but I can see the actual hole in the radiator hose, and I can see the water gushing out when it's under pressure. How did you change the clamp? Did you have to take half the engine apart?

wwidowmaker01 Nov 2006, 09:09

well, it was halfway apart when I found the water leak, but you should get away with just releasing the alternator tensioner to get the fanbelt off, then dropping the alternator completely (really sounds worse than it is - easy peazy - 2 bolts on the alternator and the tensioner nut)

cool and sad to hear about your new car... DIBS ON THE DOMAIN AND SITE IF YOU GET TIRED OF US POOR MORTALS

Im joining the event - where do we meet up to have a drive together?
Sundome maybe anyone? mmm maybe we should start compiling a geography chart.
