wow, what did you give santa last year???

PPhinx26 Nov 2007, 13:50

Cometic MHG - R800 * Was done with head
Arp bolts R 1200 * Was done with head
Aries pistons - R 4000

GGary5726 Nov 2007, 13:53

So that totals R11 747??

PPhinx26 Nov 2007, 13:55

Check my garage all the costing is there from all the mods I have done to the car

GGary5726 Nov 2007, 13:57

Will do but this rebuild cost you R11 747 or am I wrong??

PPhinx26 Nov 2007, 14:00

More... I stll havnt added the Gasket-set, waterpump, Cam-belt other belts, tensoners ... ect

add about R 1000 extra plus I still have to pay Hennie for his work

PPhinx27 Nov 2007, 10:19

Estimated this rebuild cost me R 15000 +

But I am getting some good power/ reliablity mods for my cash.

Ported head
Cams
Forged Pistons
Balanced Bottom-end
Knife-edging
L\weight Flywheel
1875 cc (almost 1900cc)

But still its hitting me hard on the pocket , bread and water is all i can afford

GGary5727 Nov 2007, 10:23

How much did they have to modify the pistons?? What is the CR now?? Whatcams are you getting now or are they the same old ones you had modified??

PPhinx27 Nov 2007, 10:31

You ask to many Questions... 😂

The cams will match Hennies work the compression will be around 8.3.

The piston needed very minor work basically just a very small pocket to clear the squinter as the skirt is just a bit to long

Yip very inquizitive...

What are the specs on the cams?? Did Hennie do them??

Are you still going to run this motor on low boost??

PPhinx27 Nov 2007, 10:46

The Cams are not that far from stock as cams are hard to get...
The lifters have been redone again...

Hennies not working with the Cams at all and Yep Low boost now it will be 0.4 bar

GGary5727 Nov 2007, 11:09

Yep Low boost now it will be 0.4 bar

Why why why?? How you going to keep the turbo that low anyway, have you changed the actuator??

VVladeadmin27 Nov 2007, 11:40

8.3 Compression so that is 0.2 lower than normal hey?

Phinx what you doing with your old cam? Didn't you have a DE cam in?

PPhinx27 Nov 2007, 11:48

Yep the actuator is fully adjustable currently at 0.3 bar...
I let the boost controller do all the work of keeping it at point 0.5 bar

Why Why Why ...... Fueling Fueling Fueling, I dont have the money for 440cc and a AFM at the moment maybe some day with my GT35

CChemCooladmin28 Nov 2007, 18:36

Phinxie, how do you get to 1875. is that with pistons sizes larger than 1 mm (40th) oversized???? 🙄 🙄

Chem 🙄

VVladeadmin29 Nov 2007, 07:30

Remember Freddy that his pistons is dished its not flat like yours so you gain a few extra cc's but not much its like 3-5cc's per cylinder.

Thats also why he has a lower CR.

PPhinx29 Nov 2007, 08:48

?

84.5 mm bore, becuase the piston is 84 mm and we need a 0,5 mm clearance for piston rings

the stroke in 83.6mm and the rod length is 133 mm so the 1875cc...

Well maybe Im wrong the stock motor is 1809cc stock

VVladeadmin29 Nov 2007, 10:29

0.5mm clearance? that's a huge... normally its like 0.003" to 0.004"

GGary5729 Nov 2007, 10:40
