So should we make it R95K with coilovers and brakes to be safe ? Did i miss anything else ?

Dont think R95K is a correct indication of a RB swop cost. R45-R50K is more like it. Could even be less with std manifolds, no B/Controller, std clutch. Any chassis upgrades are a good idea, if u plan more power, irrespective of wich engine u have.
Maybe R95K incl power upgrade of std RB25DET(turbo, injectors...) and chassis upgrades (susp and brakes).

can i throw a spanner in the works here. What would the cost be to get the 350kw with a TB26dett if i was to say pay 22k for the motor and 6k for the fat box(rb25) ??? juts a question to the guys that know what the costs would be.id have to add the sump in there aswell t make the 4x4 sump change.

350kw RB26DETT, dont think the std ceramic turbo's will last long at 350kw, also the 440cc inj's are too small, so turbo and injector upgrade, sump can be modified, i have done it, works fine. Single turbo will cost u a turbo, manifold and wastegate, twin upgrade are expensive (R20k+)
Std RB26DETT are good value under 300kw.

This all gives good food for thought,

When you see a Decent RB S13/14 for sale for anything under R120K the first thing that should come out of your mouth is BARGAIN !! 🙂

I agree 100% 😀 time and money spent way more then R120K 🙄

nneptune06 Jul 2010, 07:49

So stick to your RBSX prices dont sell for less then R110/R120

nnirvash07 Jul 2010, 00:41

first things first, i think my next upgrade has to be wheels, my standard s13 wheels dont really hold up at the moment 😉

in order for me:

1st - wheels
2nd - brakes
3rd - coilovers

=one hellova sleeper s13 😀

...sorry for the small highjack.i had a rb26 in stock form it made 267rwkw then the turbo broke and bypassed the head and found a new home on my piston's and started main course on my sleeves.to make 350kw on it i would say turbo, exhaust mani, wastegate, gasket and arp bolts on the head and you will have to sort out a aftermarket oil pump to keep that hungry head happy.so all and all rb26 is king but to expensive to build.for that reason a 25 is a better option.but hey that's just my 2cents..back to the topic at hand.congrats with your build!many many happy miles!

I notice i say 267 RWKW, that should be well over 300kw(flywheel) what boost did u run the turbo's? injector size?

ssmoothedgp08 Jul 2010, 10:51

Stock injectors,1.4bar.no meth nothing.i was stupid to push those turbo's so hard but its school fees.no point crying over spilled milk or turbo's in this case.

Yes, its well proven they dont last long over 1 bar, think u might have maxed out the injectors too. 1.4 bar on ceramic turbo's, pump feul on 440cc injectors........ wont last long 🙂

tiny tiny update

my gear lever was really really loose due to a worn bush going tino the gear box from the lever.
changed it with a nissan v6 bakkie bush (same size) and WOW all i can say is it made a world of difference. now i can really feel all the RB goodness, what an awesome gearbox, so precise and close, love it 😀

really happy with how its running 😛

Glad u got it sorted. a small part can sometimes make a huge differance.

nnirvash07 Aug 2010, 18:35

ya, that little part made the HUGEST difference in the whole feel of the car, so much better 😀

the RB gearbox is really really nice, couldnt feel it properly at all before.

the bush i removed was about 1 third of the size of the new one, it was almost at the point of being so worn that it would just fall of 😮 basically wasnt even doing anything.

all sorted now tho 😀
